Warble Entertainment Agency would like to officially welcome Marie to the team. Marie started her employment with Warble in Jan 2011 as an Entertainment Agent and she has very quickly transferred her previous experience and skills to become a truly valued member of the team. We asked Marie to tell us a little bit about herself and what she thinks of the Warble life so far….
“My name is Marie and I am 27 years old and from a small town in Cheshire called Nantwich. In my spare time I enjoy horse riding, dog walking and when I have time cooking. Before starting to work at Warble I was a lettings and sales negotiator for a large estate agents, which although enjoyable wasn’t as fun as arranging bands for weddings or caricaturists for parties. Talking to customers and helping with their events is extremely rewarding and I feel privileged to be able to play a part in people’s special days. I get a real buzz from matching the right act or band to a customer’s requirements.
I also enjoy working with the acts on the Warble roster. It feels like I am getting to know a lot of them very well and building a great rapport… even though I am jealous of how talented they are! It’s been great fun getting out seeing the acts as well; it’s the best way of fully appreciating what they offer and just how good they really are.
There are a couple of things I particularly enjoy about being an entertainment agent. Firstly, I love the fact that I never know what I’m going to be doing! I could be booking bands for a venue one minute and in the next breath I could be arranging 3 or 4 magicians for a big corporate event. It’s certainly not a boring job! So far, some of my events have included a party where Clive Anderson was the host and I also recently arranged the entertainment for a large James Bond themed event for a rather prestigious company. But, one of my loveliest moments was when I received a personal thank you card from a bride and groom who I had helped hire a band and a string quartet.
The other thing I love about the job is that the time flies! I’m always so busy that I just cannot believe where the day goes! Its fab having a job where I’m not clock watching. In fact, there are some days where I wish the clock would move backwards as there’s always so much to do with such little time!”
Warble would like to say thanks to Marie for all her hard work so far and fitting into the team so well… and yes, we’ll buy you a cake on Friday!
